This year we spent a week and a half in Florida and we traveled all over! We went to a ton of gorgeous beaches both on the Atlantic side and the gulf side.
First, we arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and we stayed at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. We love to stay there because it is literally right on the beach and the staff is always so kind and helpful. We also love to stay there because you can eat at their restaurant, Ocean2000 (which is on the beach) for breakfast, lunch and dinner so you can spend the whole day outside soaking up the Florida sun! We mostly eat at Ocean2000 but we still manage to venture out and explore the wonderful cuisine options Fort Lauderdale has to offer. One of our absolute favorite restuarants is Greek Islands Taverna, a super famous greek restaurant in South Florida(check out their insta @greekislandstaverna ) and the food is delicious. It is a must stop!!! We always visit the puppies at the Teacup Puppy Store (Boi and Minnie's HOME!) and we always fall in love with all of the puppies!! Whenever we go we always want to get more puppies! If you are shopping for a small furry friend look at their website (also, if you are looking for a pup at the Teacup Puppy Store, contact us bc we know the sweetest lady there who will help you find the best puppy for you!). The Teacup Puppy Store is also super famous and is where Ariana Grande and tons of other celebrites have bought there puppies!
After spending a few days in Fort Lauderdale, we drove up to Gainesville. We have grown up going to Gainesville every summer since we were babies because our other grandmother lives there. Gainesville is a small city that is home to the University of Florida (Go Gators!! We are Gators by blood!) and beautiful state parks such as Devil's Millhopper Geological State Park and Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. Our favorite resturant in Gainesville is Root & Pecker (everything is locally sourced and organic) and Big Island Bowls. Once our Aunt flew in and we picked our grandmother we were off to the next beach.
After a three hour drive south, we arrived at Longboat Key. There we stayed at the Longboat Key Club and Resort. We definitely recommend staying here when visiting the area! The beach is very private and absolutely stunning!!! (the pictures don't do it justice!) At night we would either stay on the resort grounds and admire the beautiful sunset over the gulf or visit St. Armand's Circle (a two minute drive away). There we ate at the Columbia Restaurant. We HIGHLY recommend this resturant as all the food is authentically Spanish and fresh. The paella is to die for and the 1905 salad is always are go to. We got the BEST popsicles at The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops. They are the best summer treat.
