If you follow us on Instagram, then you know that we love to walk and get moving. Walking is a fantastic workout and mind cleanser. I feel like a walking workout is often seen as boring and uninteresting, but we promise you there are ways to make it fun & challenging. Here are some of our favorite ways to spice up a regular walk:
1. Bala Weights
We are obsessed with our BALA weights because they are so versatile, easy to take wherever, & so fun to use! You can either wear them on your ankles or wrists & it totally spices up your workout. In fact, we also sometimes wear them even when we're not working out. In Carmel, we'd wear them while we're shopping & SO many people stopped us asking where they were from. Plus, they come in so many different colors, they even spice up your workout look! Shop below!
2. Ditch the Music, listen to a Podcast!
Podcasts are a great way to make your walks feel shorter. Why not listen to a self-help podcast or learn about the newest ways for wellness while you are on your walk. Our favorite podcasts are The Blonde Files by Arielle Lorre, The Skinny Confidential Him and Her, Life with Marianna, and Skimm'd from the Couch. Of course, while listening be mindful of your surroundings. We listen to podcasts with AirPods and a personal alarm. Shop below!
3. Incorporate a quick standing series at the end of your walk
If you are a Melissa Wood Health member or a Sculpt Society member, check out the quick standing series workouts. They are easy to do in the middle of your walk or at the end or beginning! Just make sure to be close to a bench or stable surface to hold on/balance with. These workouts are quick, effective, and let me tell you, you definitely will feel the burn!
